A Time for Giving Thanks

The Goose Story

As you watch the geese heading south for the winter, flying along in "V" formation, think about why they fly that way.
When the lead goose gets tired, she rotates back in the wing, and another goose flies on the point. They take turns doing hard jobs for each other. The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.
Finally, when a goose weakens or is wounded and falls out of formation, two geese fall out and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead. Then they set out alone or with another formation until they catch up with their own group. If we had the sense of a goose, we would stand by each other like that.

Geese are blessed with an indomitable spirit
and are tied together heart and soul.
They protect each other and
share the weight of the heavy load.
May we learn from these simple creatures...
to love and care for those we travel
and touch shoulders with
on this journey through life.
May God bless you and yours
this Thanksgiving and all year 'round.

I give thanks this holiday season for all my fellow "geese" who have nurtured, loved and supported me on my journey. Your words and pictures do; thank you my friend.
