I saw old Autumn in the misty morn

"I saw old Autumn in the misty morn
Stand, shadowless like Silence, listening
To Silence."
-   Thomas Hood

He stands, a Sentinel, waiting..listening for the just the right moment
to lift off and move to warmer climes.
As I watch him, I wonder...
"What are you dreaming of?"
"What are your plans~or are there plans?"
Nature doesn't 'mind' what is next.
She goes about the inner-clock-of-her-business~~
attending to the ebb and flow of the seasons....

LISTENING...

GATHERING...

...and
PREPARING TO LET GO!

AND I?
I too prepare.
I let my soul sink into the fading
beauty of fall
as I anticipate a new season.
A season of reflection and deep peaceful silence ---
save for the winds of winter.
And as I wait, I live as John Muir, for I...
..."need beauty as well as bread,
places to play in and pray in,
where nature may heal
and give strength to (my) body and soul."
AMEN!

These are so good! The last one looks like an abstract watercolor.

Thanks for sharing the beauty of this season; Mother Nature at her most glorious, but with a wistful undertone. Time for me to "gather" too; draw all those I hold dear close to my heart. Your pictures are inspiring!
